What Is The Purpose of a Tire Rotation?

The tires on our vehicles are often overlooked and taken for granted. We continue to drive our vehicles day after day, week after week while our tires slowly wear down from use. Unfortunately, many people tend to neglect their tires until a problem presents itself. Generally, this is both dangerous and expensive when compared to the alternative; proactive maintenance. The most efficient means of being proactive for your tires is to have them rotated every few thousand miles.
Simply put, a tire rotation involves a technician rotating each tire to a different position to ensure one particular tire doesn't take a myriad of abuse and get worn down faster than the others. While it may seem like an inconvenience, it can actually end up saving you a great deal of money in emergency repairs if you have a blowout due to excessive wear. Tire rotations also dramatically increase the lifespan of your tires before they require replacement.
